You might have heard a bit about lab-grown diamonds. These are man-made, synthetic creations that are becoming more common in the jewelry world. These lab-created diamonds are grown in a lab that is meant to mimic the earth’s natural diamond-making process. The resulting stones are remarkably similar to natural, real diamonds. Some even claim that there is no way to distinguish between synthetic diamonds and natural diamonds. At London Gold, however, we know that this is not true.
We are always keeping up to date with technological advances in the market, and we have recently acquired a remarkable piece of equipment: the Yehuda Diamond Detector (“YDD”). The YDD can quickly and accurately detect whether diamonds are natural or lab-grown. The detector uses advanced technology and indicates lab-grown or synthetic diamonds with a red light. Meaning, you can place a diamond halo ring into the device, and it will detect even the small diamonds in the halo as real or lab-grown. This is extremely exciting for us, as it enables us to protect you from purchasing a diamond that isn’t natural and real!
Natural diamonds form over billions of years, under intense pressure, and extreme heat. Like all beautiful things, real diamonds, and real love, take time.
